I have fifteen paintings and works on paper installed in an old, winding stairwell at the Southside Hub of Production as part of an exciting group show called This House Is Not A Home.
The exhibition features twenty artists who’ve all brought their diverse creative practices into the cavernous house in some way, shape, or form. I just finished installing my work this afternoon, and I must say that this has to be one of the most interesting exhibitions I’ve been involved with. I also had no idea how much my work would benefit from the multiple vantage points of a stairwell, but it works really well.
Gallery hours are Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. or by appointment (call 773-710-5464). The exhibition runs through April 8th.
S.H.o.P. is located at 5638 South Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago, IL.
