Feb. 18 - May 16 Group ExhibitionMaking Hope Happen @ American Jewish Museum (Pittsburgh, PA)

It is in this group show that I will showcase Provisions, a multifaceted visual installation that synthesizes street sign aesthetics, the insights of mothers into their compassionate practice, and a meditation on the nature of service. I'm very excited about this piece, for reasons I'll soon detail on this website.

The show also features work by Leslie Ansley, Matt Forest, Leslie Golomb, Wendy Osher, Philip Rostek, David Stanger, and Dror Yaron. I am familiar with most of these artists, and the variety and rigor of their various strategies will surely make this show, at the very least, thoroughly multifaceted.

April 9 Panel Discussion Making Hope Happen @ American Jewish Museum (Pittsburgh, PA)

Come listen to the artists in "Making Hope Happen" discuss their work and the interesting challenge supplied by this group show: to make art in response to or conversation with specific social services. Ask us questions and criticize our practices. Ferret out the inconsistencies in our politics. Bully our aesthetics.

April 9th at 7pm
American Jewish Museum, 5378 Darlington Road in Squirrel Hill (Pittsburgh)

A discussion with participating Making Hope Happen artists - Leslie Ansley, Matt Forrest, Leslie A. Golomb, Adam Grossi, Wendy Osher, Philip Rostek, David Stanger and Dror Yaron. Facilitated by Delanie Jenkins, Chair, Department of Studio Arts, University of Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts 2007 Artist of the Year, the symposium will explore how each artist interpreted and responded to stories of individuals served by JF&CS. Hear from the artists themselves how being a part of Making Hope Happen touched each of their own lives and their roles in creating work that matters to the community. RSVPs desired. Call JF&CS at 412-422-7200 or register online at http://pittsburgh.planitjewish.com.

March 29 - May 4 Group Exhibition Bridge of Hope @ Delaware Art Museum (Wilmington, DE)

Two of my paintings -- Given Site and Paradigms and Partitions -- are a part of this group show in the Outlooks Gallery at the Delaware Art Museum. This is the second exhibition as part of the Iraq/US Bridge of Hope project, curated by Rosemary Lane, which brings together contemporary artists from both countries in a shared exhibition space.

Artist's reception, which I sadly will be unable to attend, takes place on April 4th. More about the exhibition space here.

July 5 - 26 Group Exhibition Urbanic @ Moxie DaDa Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA)

I'll have new work (paintings, drawings, prints, or potentially all three) in this group show at one of Pittsburgh's great independent art spaces, Moxie DaDa. It's a delicious lineup: Grant Bobitski, Amy Casey, Kaley Finegan, Adam Grossi, Matthew Indovina, Deanna Mance, and Tom Williams. I think the work will range from two-dimensional objects through sculpture and into video projection ... more about this show as the weather turns.
